Lost Things
I am happy to share the results of the tenth Renderman "Lost Things" Art Challange where my work took 2nd place.

Starting this work I was thinking what are the Lost Things, and what do they mean or symbolize? Each thing was invented for some purpose, they all had some function whether it was recreational or practical. To some extent, things can be a metaphor for professions.

New devices appear each year, and some become outdated. Unfortunately, in many cases this does not mean that these things were of bad quality or performed the function badly. This signifies that circumstances are changing rapidly.

When my father bought our first computer, he thought it would last for years and could be passed on to his kids. Clearly, progress far exceeded his expectations. In a similar way, certain professions that once played an important role in our society may become obsolete, despite the dedication and hard work of individuals. I wanted to depict these objects as if they were homeless - once in demand but now struggling to keep up with the rapidly changing circumstances. They have to ponder their place in this evolving world.
Thanks to the Pixar and Renderman team and all the sponsors for this event. I also want to thank Leif Pedersen and Eugene Riecansky for all the help and inspiration during the process.
Thank you!
